I was hoping to see the ability to clone a running server and create a docker container from it, but the title/description was deceiving. Instead, this session focused on using Docker for real time checkpoints and restores of Docker containers programmatically using Node JS. Very insightful, but less useful than I anticipated.
The presenter created a product that uses Docker for a web based nodeJS environment. https://tonicdev.com/ Where commands typed are sent in real time to your own Docker container.
This technique could be used for automated backups for deployment. The school district providing user accessible services where backup/restore of an individual's container is unneeded.
